PARIS (Sputnik) — A total of 16 football fans, including six Russian nationals, were detained on Wednesday in a new wave of clashes in the French city of Lille, Nord department police said in a statement.
"A total of sixteen people were detained, including six Russians who also took part in clashes in Marseille on Saturday," the statement said.
According to the document, three Russians and one Ukrainian fans will be expelled from France for violation of public order.
On June 11, the Russian national football team played against England in its first UEFA Euro-2016 match in the French city of Marseille. After the match, clashes between Russian and English fans erupted at the stadium and in the port town. As a result, at least 30 people were injured.
