MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Lille city court made a decision to deport two Russian football fans, detained over a scuffle ahead of the Russia-Slovakia football match, from France, a spokesperson of the Russian Embassy in the country said Thursday.
"According to the prefect's decision, both Russian nationals, detained over the scuffle in Lille, will be deported from the country. One of the detainees was sentenced to three months of suspended imprisonment with a delay for five years and banned from entering France for one year. No more punishment has been invoked in relation to the second detainee," the embassy's spokesperson told RIA Novosti.
According to the spokesperson, both Russian nationals will soon be transferred to a temporary accommodation center, from where they will leave France for Russia.
On Wednesday, it became known that a total of 12 Russian football fans had been detained in Lille.
