ST. PETERSBURG (Sputnik) — Russia's energy giant Gazprom in full volume receives money for gas supplies to Belarus from its Belorussian subsidiary and the debt issue is a dispute between two local enterprises, Gazprom CEO Alexey Miller said Saturday.
"Gazprom receives money for gas supplies to Belarus. Our Belarusian 100 percent subsidiary pays money for our gas supplies to Belarus in full volume. Gazprom has no debt for gas supplies to Belarus. There is a debt receivable between two Belarusian enterprises, two economic entities," Miller told reporters.
On May 12, Novak said that Belarus owes Russia's energy giant Gazprom $125 million for gas deliveries between January and April 2016. Minsk refused to recognize the debt, saying that Belarus paid in line with the intergovernmental agreement.
In early May, Gazprom Transgaz Belarus filed a lawsuit with the International Arbitration Court at the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI) with arrears claims toward the country’s gas providers.
