MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Lewis was fired by State Attorney Jeff Ashton in Osceola county of Florida late on Thursday over breach of the prosecutor's office's social media policy. The policy was introduced after Lewis wrote on Facebook that he wished Florida's "crack hoes" referring to drug addicts a happy holiday on Mother's Day in 2014, the WESH broadcaster said.
According to the media outlet, on the day of Orlando tragedy, Lewis wrote on his Facebook page that the city was void of culture, calling it "a melting pot of 3rd world miscreants and ghetto thugs." He said that people who lived in Orlando were in danger and at risk.
Lewis is said to have worked as a prosecutor for 20 years.
