Russia, Mexico Continue Talks on Space Cooperation
14:33 GMT 30.06.2016 (Updated: 11:12 GMT 06.08.2022) Russia and Mexico are moving forward with an agreement on space cooperation, Moscow's ambassador told Sputnik.
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russia and Mexico continue negotiations on the issue of agreement on space cooperation, Russian Ambassador to Mexico Eduard Malayan told Sputnik in an interview.
"I can say that work on a cooperation agreement in the sphere of space area is in progress. There is a draft agreement, we are in talks with them on the issue," Malayan said.
He added that the bilateral relations in the space area had not been affected by Russia's Proton carrier rocket failure in May 2015, when the rocket carrying a Mexican satellite blasted off from the Baikonur Space Center in Kazakhstan.
The two countries have been discussing cooperation in space for years. The Russian side has already put several Mexican satellites into orbit.
