Russia Preparing Documents to Lift Restrictions on Turkey

The Russian government is preparing documents needed to lift restrictions on Turkey, the Kremlin spokesman said.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The Russian government is drafting documents, including a presidential decree, needed to lift restrictions on Turkey, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Thursday.

"The relevant acts that cancel the previous relevant acts imposing restrictions on an activity should be adopted… Accordingly, there will be a presidential decree and the relevant acts of government. The entire set of these documents are being prepared in the government," Peskov told reporters.

Too Early to Discuss Resumption of Turkish Stream Project - Kremlin
On Wednesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin held a phone conversation with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The leaders agreed to restore bilateral relations, inluding in the spheres of trade and tourism.

Moscow suspended a number of strategic bilateral projects, including negotiations on the Turkish Stream project following the downing of a Russian Su-24 aircraft by a Turkish F-16 fighter jet in Syria on November 24.
