"The traffic is partially blocked. People walk on a pedestrian crossing and partially let the vehicles pass. The traffic has been resumed in one place. In two other areas, law enforcement officers have been raising awareness," Svetlana Dobrovolskaya told RIA Novosti.
Earlier in the day, Poland introduced monthly border controls and boosted checks with the Czech Republic, Germany, Lithuania, Slovakia, Russia, Belarus and Ukraine. Checks have also been increased in ports and airports ahead of the NATO summit scheduled for July 8-9 in Warsaw.
Shortly after, reports emerged on social media that the activists dissatisfied with Poland's move were planning to block the road near the Ukrainian village of Shehyni, which is located on the border with Poland.
