WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Canada and China are co-chairing the trade and investment working group at the G20 meeting that has been established in January, according to the statement.
"The minister [Freeland] will hold bilateral discussions with her counterparts and meet with business leaders to advance Canada’s commercial interests and reinforce bilateral ties with that country [China]," the release stated.
China is Canada’s second largest trading partner after the United States.
The G20 is an international forum for the world's 20 biggest economies. Its participants include the United States, Russia, China, Japan, South Korea, India, Mexico and the United Kingdom, among others.
