MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The 2016 International Army Games are expected to take place between July 30 and August 13 with 19 participating countries. As many as 23 competitions will be held during this time at military training grounds, as well as in the Caspian and Black seas.
"The second Chinese echelon crossed the border today, two echelons are on the way so that the last echelon arrives by July 23 at the place where the games will take place," he said.
He added that Chinese, as well as Belarusian delegations, would arrive with their own vehicles, while other delegations would use Russian T-72 tanks.
The first International Army Games competition was held in August 2015 at the initiative of the Russian Defense Ministry, and attracted more than 2,000 participants from 57 teams of 17 countries. Eleven different locations across Russia hosted stages of the contest.
