WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — In a press release on Friday, the Fraternal Order of Police President Chuck Canterbury called for a federal investigation into those individuals motivated by hatred of police to commit a mass murder in Dallas.
"I know there are some people who’ve raised that prospect and there are some reports about what this individual might have said to police officers last night… I just think it’s too early to jump to that conclusion at this point."
The Fraternal Order of Police is the largest law enforcement union in the United States with more than 330,000 members.
On Thursday night, a sniper killed five police officers in Dallas during a protest against the deadly police shootings of two African-American men in the US states of Louisiana and Minnesota.
