More than 20 tourists from China died Tuesday when a fire broke out in their tour bus after it rammed into a guardrail on the side of No. 2 National Freeway, authorities said.

According to AFP, the accident happened near Taoyuan City as the bus was heading to Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport.

The group of tourists aboard the bus was from Liaoning Province, China, the Central News Agency reported, citing the Tourism Bureau.
The accident reportedly took place at about 1 p.m. local time (05:00 GMT) on the side of No. 2 National Freeway when the bus was heading to the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport.
