Jury selection in the murder trial of Russian politician Boris Nemtsov will begin at Moscow’s district military court on August 24, the main defendant's attorney Shamsudin Tsakayev said Tuesday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – He said the jury would consist of 12 main members and two reserve members.

"Today during preliminary hearings, we asked the court to consider a trial by jury. The selection is scheduled for August 24," Tsakayev told RIa Novosti.

Five defendants are standing trial for shooting down Nemtsov in central Moscow late February 2015.
