WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – On Wednesday, Kerry and the foreign ministers from Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan will gather in Washington, DC for the C5+1 ministerial.
“The group will then discuss regional security, economic connectivity, environment and climate change, and humanitarian issues,” the release, issued on Monday, stated.
The United States, the release added, looks forward to continuing the C5+1 format to broaden and deepen its relationship with the Central Asian states.
Kerry and the ministers plan to follow up on earlier proposed projects developed by C5+1 working groups in Uzbekistan at last year’s meeting.
In 2015, Kerry and the five foreign ministers approved the creation of a new format of interaction for the C5 + 1 for holding regular political dialogue on issues of common interest.
