WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – US Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton enjoys a 15-point lead over her Republican rival Donald Trump in the US state of New Hampshire after the Democratic National Convention, a new poll revealed on Thursday.
"Our new poll of 609 likely New Hampshire voters…shows Clinton leading Trump 47 percent to 32 percent," a WBUR poll found.
One of the main reasons for Clinton's surge in the poll is that supporters of former Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders are consolidating behind her, according to the poll.
The former first lady now has 86 percent of the Democratic vote, while Trump is backed by 63 percent of Republicans, the poll said.
New Hampshire has supported the Democratic presidential candidate in five of the past six elections, but it is still considered a battleground state because the margins of victory were within only a few points.
This poll has a margin of error of four percentage points.
