Armenia Violates Karabakh Ceasefire 20 Times in 24 Hours – Azerbaijan Military
05:34 GMT 09.08.2016 (Updated: 12:16 GMT 20.09.2023) Armenia has violated the ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh 20 times during last 24 hours, the Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry said on Tuesday in a statement.
BAKU (Sputnik) – Violence erupted in Nagorno-Karabakh on April 2, and led to multiple casualties. The parties to the conflict signed a Russian-brokered ceasefire on April 5, but mutual accusations have not stopped so far.
"Despite the earlier reached agreement on the ceasefire regime on the contact line in Karabakh, the Armenian side violated the regime across the line 20 times in last 24 hours," the statement said.
Azerbaijan's Armenian-dominated breakaway region of Nagorno-Karabakh proclaimed its independence in 1991. After the military conflict ended in 1994, Azerbaijan lost control over the region.
