ALABINO (Moscow Region) (Sputnik) — Participation in the International Army Games (IAG) is a great opportunity for countries to review Russia’s military equipment in action before buying it, Russian Commander-in-Chief of the Land Forces Oleg Salyukov said Saturday.
The IAG kicked off in Russia on July 30. The event featured competitions in 23 disciplines, including tank biathlon, the sniper frontier, gunsmith master and clear sky. A total of 121 teams from 19 countries from across the world took part in the IAG.
"If the representatives of some countries want to get reviews of our equipment which they will possibly acquire, then there is nothing better than to send their crews [to participate in the IAG] and get reliable information from them- how good they can operate this equipment and whether it is suitable to them," Salyukov told reporters.
He added that the IAG-2016 was a competition of equipment, among other things, but Russia was willing to rent its military equipment during the games, as delivering their own would cost the participants a lot of money.
The IAG closing ceremony is expected to be held after all of the remaining competitions are completed on Saturday.
