TOKYO (Sputnik) – South Korea relaunched on Saturday the first reactor of the Wolsong nuclear power plant suspended in late July over technical problems, local media reported.
The 679MW Wolsong reactor is expected to reach its full capacity Sunday in the evening, Yonhap news agency reported citing the Korea Hydro and Nuclear Power Co.
The reactor was relaunched amid the concerns about power supply over the ongoing heatwave.
The reactor's work was halted on July 22 over a fault in the security system. No leakage of nuclear material was detected.
