MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The ceasefire regime in war-torn Syria was violated a total of eight times in the provinces of Damascus and Latakia in the past 24 hours, the Russian center for Syrian reconciliation at the Hmeymim airbase said Sunday.
"Within last 24 hours, 8 ceasefire violations have been registered in the Damascus (5), and Latakia (3) provinces," the ministry said in a daily bulletin posted on its website.
The ministry added that Russian Aerospace Forces and Syrian Air Force did not make strikes on opposition armed formations, which follow ceasefire regime and informed Russian and US reconciliation centers about their location.
The Russia-US brokered ceasefire regime in Syria came into force on February 27. The Jabhat Fatah Al Sham, formerly known as al-Nusra Front, and Daesh terrorist groups, which have been outlawed in Russia, are not part of the ceasefire deal.
