In a shocking incident in India's southern state of Maharashtra, police have recovered four dead bodies from a farm house owned by Dr. Santosh Pol in Wai. In addition he is suspected of being involved in the case of missing creche employee Mangal Jedhe.
During interrogation, the doctor confessed to have killed Jedhe, with whom he had an illicit affair. He said that he along with an accomplice, he kidnapped Jedhe from a bus stop and buried her at his farmhouse after giving her lethal injections. The accomplice was a nurse working and was romantically involved with him.
He then allegedly revealed that he had buried five women at his farmhouse and thrown a man's body into a water reservoir over the last few years. According to the police, Pol confessed that his crimes were driven by "lust and robbery."
The 41-year-old doctor has been dubbed "Dr Death" by policemen handling his case. Sources also said the police are also investigating Pol's involvement in more than a dozen cases of missing persons from the same area.
