OMSK (Sputnik) — The engine plant in Omsk has previously produced TV7-117S engines, but is now adapting its testing facilities to producing the new ST variant as the two have a number of differences in their design.
"The Gas-Turbine Engineering Research and Production Center 'Salut' (part of UEC) has been chosen as the final TV7-117ST engine assembly enterprise since 2018. The final assembly, testing and shipping of the engine will be carried out by the Omsk Engine-Building Enterprise (a Salut affiliate)," the UEC said in a statement.
The Il-112V is an Ilyushin-developed light military transport aircraft, designed for transporting and parachuting of military equipment and personnel, as well as of various cargo. The aircraft is considered to be a replacement for Russia's aging Antonov An-26 planes. Mass production of the plane is scheduled for 2019 at the Voronezh aircraft plant after all state tests are completed.
