WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Trump usually criticizes what he alleges is unfair, biased coverage of him by the mainstream US broadcasting and print media in his almost-year-long campaign.
In May, Trump claimed that "some of the most dishonest people in the universe" are the US media.
"A plurality of Americans share the sentiment that media coverage is biased toward Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton," the poll by Morning Consult showed.
Some 40 percent of those surveyed said the media is trying to aid in the election of Clinton. At the same time, only 12 percent of those polled think the media has been biased towards Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.
"One-third of voters said the media performed poorly in treating each candidate fairly, while less than a quarter (23 percent) said news outlets were doing a good job on that front," the survey said.
