Her speech was scheduled Friday at noon in Columbus, Ohio, but Stein, a physician and environmental-health advocate, for unknown reasons took a plane to Cincinnati instead.
There was no official explanation for the mistake, but there are rumors that it was because both cities' names begin with the letter C.
"They just got on the road and will be two hours late. Things happen," said Aaron Suarez, president of Capital University Greens Student Organization, sponsoring the event.
The providers ordered pizzas for the audience of about 100 people waiting for the candidate at Schaaf Lawn in front of an empty podium. It's unclear, though, how long the pizzas will encourage people to stick around.
Stein has called for a student loan bailout to forgive existing debt.
Jill Stein was the Green Party's presidential candidate in 2012, receiving 0.3% of the vote in Ohio and 0.4% nationally.
In four-way national polls with Republican Donald Trump, Democrat Hillary Clinton and Libertarian Gary Johnson, Stein is receiving about 3-% support.
Bexley is about a two-hour drive from Cincinnati, so the supporters will need more than just patience if they want to hear Stein speak.
