MOSCOW (Sputnik) – On Friday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and US Secretary of State John Kerry announced a new plan aimed at reducing violence in Syria, which includes a new ceasefire that will come into force on September 12. Lavrov said after the talks that the issue of differentiation between the terrorists and the opposition was one of the key priorities in the adopted documents.
"The moderate groups will re-organize and distance themselves from the radical groups. We will do our part," Bassma Kodmani said in a statement.
She stressed that in order this pledge to be fulfilled the government forces should end the "strategy of surrounding whole areas and besieging them."
The moderate opposition was "forced together under siege," Kodmani explained.
