MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The Islamic State (ISIL or Daesh) jihadist group’s growing military capabilities threaten to pose a more formidable challenge next year if the banned extremist group is not contained, the Russian presidential envoy for Afghanistan and senior Foreign Ministry official said Tuesday.

"They continue to mobilize, recruit, to build up their military potential. If this is not put to an end and is not contained, next year we may face an even more formidable force in the face of the IS," Zamir Kabulov said at a press conference hosted by the Rossiya Segodnya International Information Agency.
