"It's quite clear this caused a lot of disruption to a great many people, doubtless many of whom were the people you were aiming at", Judge Roscoe said, while adding "It may have caused a real upset to people who had similar beliefs to yourself," as cited by Standard newspaper.
On September 6, nine Black Live Matters activists climbed on to London city airport runway from the water level after using inflatable boats to cross the river. On the runway, they constructed a bamboo tripod which one activist climbed on while the others chained themselves to, in a protest they claimed was aimed to raise awareness on climate change and its effects on black people. The protest disrupted around 9,000 passengers who got their flights delayed or canceled.
