MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Earlier on Thursday, Dunya News TV reported that an Awami Express going to the capital of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, Peshawar, from Karachi, Pakistan’s largest city, collided with another train in the Multan area, killing at least four and injuring 100 others.
Geo TV said citing officials and railway sources on Thursday that at least six people were killed in the accident and over 150 were injured; 10 of the wounded are in grave condition.
According to Geo TV, the Awami Express collided with a freight train that had stopped near Bucch railway station in Sher Shah area after overrunning a man.
As a result of the crash, four of the Awami Express cars got off track.
All of the injured have been taken to the hospital and the stranded people have been rescued, District Coordination Officer of Multan said as cited by Dunya News.
