BAKU (Sputnik) — Panahov said during a press conference that a total of 91.2 percent of the electorate supported extending Azerbaijan's presidential term.
On Monday, CEC declared the country's Sunday referendum on constitutional amendments valid with 30.6-percent turnout.
The referendum agenda comprised a total of 29 constitutional amendments.
The current Constitution of Azerbaijan was adopted on November 12, 1995 on the first referendum in country's history.
Since the adoption, the document has undergone several amendments. In 2009, at the second referendum, the text was amended 41 times, lifting the restriction for the president to hold office for more than two terms in a row.
