WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Work will be performed in Stratford, Connecticut, with an estimated completion date of December 31, 2021, the Defense Department said.
"Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation [of] Stratford, Connecticut, was awarded a $148.7 million… foreign military sales contract (Taiwan) for six UH-60M uniquely configured aircraft for Taiwan National Airborne Service Corporation," the announcement stated on Wednesday.
Earlier, the US Defense Security Cooperation Agency released notification that the helicopters will have GAU-19/A 12.7 mm Gatling guns, radar warning receivers, infrared countermeasure sets, laser detecting sets and communication/datalink systems.
The new Black Hawks will replace Taiwan’s UH-1H Huey utility helicopters that now operate in the country’s Air Cavalry Brigades.
