Against almost all expectations, Colombians voted on Sunday to reject the peace deal with the FARC rebels; and, thousands take to the streets in Poland, and across the globe, protesting against new abortion laws.

It was billed as an historic turning point for Colombia, a vote that would formalize an accord to end decades of civil war in the country.  But despite a consistently comfortable polling lead for the Yes campaign, that dream evaporated last night, as Colombia voted to reject the peace deal with FARC rebels by less than a quarter of a percentage point. We speak to Patricia McEwan, Regional Secretary of Unison for Northern Ireland, who has been involved in the peace process in Colombia for four years.

The streets of Warsaw were a sea of black today as thousands took part in the Black Monday protests. Solidarity protests took place across the globe, protesting against new laws currently passing through the Polish parliament which would see abortion outlawed, even when pregnancy is the result of rape. We speak to Anna Glogowska-Balcerzak from the Lodz Women’s Rights Center.
