The Turkish Government has extended its State of Emergency, and used the powers that come with it to crackdown further on media outlets; and, was the Israeli Navy’s interception of the Women’s Flotilla to Gaza in international waters entirely legal?

The Turkish Government announced this week that they will be extending the national state of emergency by 90 days. The state of emergency has allowed for a media crackdown and this week major TV network IMC TV were the latest media group to be taken off air. We speak to Mr Ertuğrul Kürkçü of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP).

The Zaytouna-Oliva, the boat carrying thirteen women from around the world seeking to break the Israeli blockade on Gaza, was intercepted by the Israeli Navy yesterday. As the interception occurred in international waters, we'll be asking if the Israeli Navy was operating outside of international law. We speak to former British Ambassador Craig Murray.
