MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The airborne troops of Russia and Belarus are starting joint tactical drills on Friday, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a press statement.
"Divisions of Russian Airborne Troops have arrived on the territory of the Republic of Belarus to take part in a joint bilateral tactical exercise. Joint Belarusian-Russian drills will be held in three stages at one of the military sites near Brest in the period from October 7 until October 20," the statement says.
Over 700 servicemen and about 60 units of military equipment will be involved in the drills.
The servicemen will exchange experience in the methods of preparing air assault units in the course of special operations.
