British PM Theresa May Holds Key Brexit Talks With Dutch, Danes
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The United Kingdom will dismiss any effort to delay the process of leaving the European Union, UK Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union David Davis said on Monday.

"We will reject any attempt to undo the referendum result, any attempt to hold up the process unduly, or any attempt to keep Britain in the EU by the back door by those who didn't like the answer they were given on June 23," Davis said at the House of Commons as quoted by the ITV News media outlet.

On October 2, UK Prime Minister Theresa May signaled the start of Brexit by declaring that the United Kingdom would begin the procedure of leaving the European Union by the end of March 2017.

The nationwide referendum on EU membership was held on June 23 in the United Kingdom, in which 51.9 percent of voters said the country should leave the bloc. UK Prime Minister Theresa May promised to start the procedure of leaving the European Union by the end of March 2017.
