WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — According to the poll conducted by the Politico news outlet and the Morning Consult polling firm, Clinton won with 42 percent, while Trump received 28 percent.
On Sunday, Clinton and Trump clashed at a town hall-style debate on various issues, including Russia, Syria, terrorism, trading accusations and personal attacks.
Clinton currently leads Trump by five points in the presidential race, with 42 percent to 37 percent of likely voters, the poll found.
The poll also revealed that Democrats’ lead in the generic poll is growing. However, 77 percent of Republicans insist the party supports Trump, while 13 percent insist he should drop out of race.
The US presidential election will take place on November 8.
