KIEV (Sputnik) — The majority of internally displaced people (IDP) from Donbass live on some 1,400 hryvnas ($54) per month, which is close to the poverty line, IOM Director General William Lacy Swing told the Ukrainian news website Apostrophe.

He added that only 43 percent of the IDPs from Donbass had regular jobs and 18 percent had been partially employed.
According to the IOM chief, the organization had provided aid to more than 110,000 IDPs since the beginning of the Donbass conflict.
Ukraine’s southeast has been engulfed in a conflict since April 2014, when Kiev launched a military operation against local independence supporters. The conflict had already caused significant damage to residential areas and infrastructure forcing local residents to flee the region both to other country's regions and abroad.
