WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Yaroshenko, a Russian pilot sentenced to 20 years in prison for conspiring to import more than $100 million worth of cocaine into the United States, was arrested in Liberia in 2010 and given back to American authorities.
Yaroshenko has claimed to be set up and mistreated while in US custody. Yaroshenko has also said his health suffered significantly as he is denied proper healthcare.
"We have not gotten any information," Kislyak said on Tuesday in response to a question if the request for Yaroshenko's transfer has been received.
Kislyak added that the request "is obviously in the works."
