Ex-Obama Advisor: Clinton Should Skip Debate After Trump’s Call for Drug Testing

"You have to wonder if @HillaryClinton will/should reconsider next debate, given the depths to which this has sunk," Axelrod tweeted.

​Trump proposed that the candidates both undergo a drug test at a rally in New Hampshire on Saturday.

"Athletes, they make them take a drug test, right? I think we should take a drug test prior to the debate," he said.

"We should take a drug test, prior, because I don't know what's going on with her, but at the beginning of her last debate, she was all pumped up…  and at the end it was like, 'Oh, take me down,' " Trump said, mocking Clinton.

He also noted Hillary could "barely reach her car."

Concerns about Hillary Clinton's health have been one of Trump's most popular campaign points. The Republican nominee has repeatedly questioned whether Clinton is physically fit to serve as a president, feeding various conspiracy theories. The public's concerns are based on lengthy coughing fits and the candidate faltering as she entered a vehicle following a 9/11 commemoration ceremony. Clinton was later publicly diagnosed with a case of pneumonia.
