BRUSSELS (Sputnik) — The meeting of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko with the leaders of the European Council and the European Commission, Donald Tusk, and Jean-Claude Juncker in Brussels has been canceled over Wednesday's summit in 'Normandy Four' format in Berlin, an EU source told RIA Novosti on Tuesday.
"The meeting was scheduled for Wednesday evening, but due to the Normandy format summit, it was canceled," the source, who requested anonymity, said.
Poroshenko planned to discuss with senior EU officials the implementation of the Minsk agreements, as well as progress in implementing reforms and ways to strengthen EU's support to Kiev among major issues.
The Normandy Four summit was anticipated to take place in October but until recently, officials were unable to confirm the date. Earlier in the day, all Normandy Four members — Russia, Ukraine, France and Germany — confirmed that the meeting to settle the Ukrainian conflict was to take place in the German capital on Wednesday.
