MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The decision to block accounts of the RT broadcaster in the United Kingdom was taken independently by the bank, UK Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson said Tuesday.
RT's Editor-in-Chief Margarita Simonyan said Monday the broadcaster's accounts had been blocked in the United Kingdom. RT UK said it has been informed by the National Westminster Bank that banking arrangements with the broadcaster are null and void.
"I noted the decision of the NatWest bank to withdraw support for RT, that was a wholly independently taken decision," Johnson told the House of Commons.
