UNITED NATIONS (Sputnik) — Russia is in no way preventing deliveries of humanitarian aid to eastern parts of Aleppo, Syria, Russian Ambassador to the United Nations Vitaly Churkin told the UN Security Council on Wednesday in response to US allegations.
“Representatives of the United States claimed it might have been Russia that impeded the delivery of humanitarian aid to the people of eastern Aleppo. That is not true,” Churkin said to fellow Council representatives. “Those were the people who hold the population of eastern Aleppo as hostages that refused to receive supplies from UN warehouses in eastern parts of the city.”
