MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Slutsky is set to attend The Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly scheduled for October 23-27 and BRICS Parliamentary Forum on October 23. He was included in the EU sanctions list, which precludes him from traveling to the bloc, in March 2014 for allegedly undermining the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
"The Swiss embassy in Moscow provided a written confirmation that the State Duma member Leonid Slutsky, targeted by the EU sanctions, will be able to enter [Switzerland] with no obstructions," the source said.
Switzerland did not joint the EU sanctions on Russia, but stressed that it would prevent any attempts to bypass them using Switzerland's neutrality.
