UNITED NATIONS (Sputnik) — Russia finds it extremely disappointing that UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and other members of the UN did not pay enough attention to the problem terrorists at the General Assembly meeting on Syria on Thursday, Russia Envoy to UN Vitaly Churkin told the General Assembly.

"How is it possible that speaking about the situation in Syria, about the horrible humanitarian situation there, the UN Secretary-General does not mention a word about the terrorist organizations, neither al-Nusra nor ISIL [Daesh]?" Churkin said on Thursday.

He added that unanimously adopted resolutions of Security Council, 2249 and 2254, demand from the members of the United Nations "to eradicate the safe haven they [terrorists] have established in significant parts of Syria."
