MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Earlier in the day, media reported that leaders of the European Union member states were considering to impose a new round of sanctions against Russia over the ongoing Syrian crisis.
"All the options are open if there is no truce," he told reporters ahead of a European Council summit in Brussels.
Earlier in the day, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Moscow does not expect any actions from the EU against Russia over the situation in Syria.
UK Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson and US Secretary of State John Kerry threatened Russia and Syria with more sanctions last Sunday after fighting escalated in Aleppo.
German media reported last week that Chancellor Angela Merkel intended to propose a new round of economic sanctions against Russia to the European Union, which has had restrictions for it in place since the start of the Ukraine conflict in 2014.
