Khan “is hitting the trail for Hillary Clinton in Virginia," the Los Angeles Times reported, citing the candidate’s campaign staff. "Khan will make three stops around Norfolk on Wednesday."
During the 2016 campaign, Clinton’s Republican rival, Donald Trump, has said all Muslims should be banned from entering the United States until immigration and national-security authorities determine their intentions.
Khan, a Pakistani-American, responded to Trump's controversial proposal with a speech at the Democratic Party’s national convention in July.
Khan appears in a campaign television ad for Clinton that began airing last Friday. In it, the “Gold Star father” – so named for his family’s sacrifice – asks whether his late son would have had a place in a United States governed by Trump.
