WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — US President Barack Obama will campaign for his party’s presidential nominee Hillary Clinton in the US state of Florida this week, the White House said in a press release on Tuesday.
"On Friday, October 28, the President will travel to Orlando, Florida to attend a Hillary for America event," the release stated.
Last month, US media reported that Obama was launching an unprecedented wave of campaigning for Clinton, devoting at least two days a week to rallies and outreach.
Florida’s 29 votes in the US Electoral College are considered crucial for either of the two major-party candidates to win the presidency on November 8.
Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is trailing Democrat Hillary Clinton in the state, according to recent polls.
