It’s been almost three years since Edward Snowden dropped the ball. Yet concrete measures have just begun to spring up. Recently the Bundestag has passed a law that seemingly limits the country’s intelligence agency in terms of oversight and procedures. Upon closer inspection however it becomes evident that neither Germany nor any other state will ever have a tight grip on their secret services. Because this new legislation is essentially a carbon copy list of all the accusations the BND faced right after Snowden’s revelations.
