MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to the Polskie Radio broadcaster, the prosecutors claim that the group was active in 2014 in Poland and Turkey and had collected some 9,000 euro ($9800 at the current exchange rates) and recruited militants in the two countries.
The media outlet added that the men could face up to 12 years in custody, following the trial.
Daesh is a Sunni militant group, which is outlawed in many other counties, including Russia and the United Kingdom. The militants currently control large areas of Syria and Iraq, and spreading their influence to other countries. The group is notorious for its brutality and many human rights violations, as well as for recruiting militants, commonly young people, from all over the world via social networks.
