WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — In addition, Trump backers appear to share their candidate’s doubts that the upcoming presidential election will be fair, according to a press release explaining the poll.
“Only about half of Trump supporters (49 percent) view this [press freedom] as very important, compared with 72 percent of Clinton supporters,” the poll revealed on Thursday.
In another finding, the poll indicated the voters believe that neither Trump nor Clinton would do a good job leading the nation.
“Concerns over Clinton’s honesty persist, and just 35 percent say that, if elected, she would make a good or great president,” the press release explained. Even fewer, 27 percent, have confidence that Trump would make a good or great president.
The level of pessimism directed at both candidates has changed little over the course of the campaign, according to PEW.
