MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russia has and will continue to avoid interfering in the domestic affairs of sovereign states and will not allow other countries to force outside problems on it, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev told Sputnik.
"Russia has avoided and will avoid any interference in the internal affairs of sovereign states. However, this does not mean that we will allow anyone to export to our country their own problems. These attempts will be dealt with firmly and decisively," Patrushev said.
Going into isolation and forcing other countries into isolation is counterproductive in light of the current realities on the world stage, Patrushev told Sputnik.
"Russia proceeds from the fact that in the current international situation it is equally counterproductive to go into isolation, as well as attempts to isolate other players," Patrushev said.
