ST. PETERSBURG (Sputnik) — The RCIF is a private equity fund established in 2012 by the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and the China Investment Corporation (CIC) with $2 billion in capital.
"We have seen strong interest in Russian high-tech projects in the process of working with our Chinese partners, and now we are pleased to announce the creation of a special fund which will allow to realize the investment potential in this area," RCIF Co-CEO Kirill Dmitriev said in a statement
The Russia-China Venture Fund (RCVF), with the RCIF and Tus-Holdings as its anchor investors, has attracted a number of institutional investors from China, Dmitriev added. Its establishment agreement has been signed at the Russia-China Business Advisory Committee meeting.
The RCIF will focus on finding investment opportunities among high-tech firms and startups in Russia, including finance sector IT, big data, cloud technologies, biotechnology, biomedicine, clean sources of energy and data transfer.
