MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Syria's civil war between government forces and a wide range of insurgents, including opposition groups and terrorists, such as Daesh and Jabhat Fatah al Sham, outlawed in many countries including Russia, has been raging for more than five years and has claimed hundreds of thousands of lives.
"Views were exchanged on key aspects of regional issues with a focus on the situation in Syria and the tasks of resolving the Syrian crisis, including Moscow's and Cairo's cooperation in the UN Security Counil," the ministry said in a statement.
